Demi's Buggy Appeal
Sep 19th 2010, 14:16 | JulieGardner
7yr old Demi needs a specialist folding buggy and accessories to give her more freedom to travel with friends and carers for trips to the farm and other places.
Demi is an amazing happy-go-lucky 7yr old girl who enjoys life to the fullest even though she is often restricted to her wheelchair by a complex collection of illnesses, including:
- Cerebral palsy
- Severe epilespy
- ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
- and other complex health conditions
On a good day Demi's legs are able to support her and she get's on with life, bouncing around just like any other 7yr old.
On the not-so-good days she can spend most of the day in her wheelchair as her legs are unable to support her and she can be quite 'floppy'.
As a result, the wheelchair needs to be with Demi at all times, but due to being large and rigid it will not fit in an average car meaning Demi is unable to enjoy day trips to the farm or other places.
The simple solution is a specialist buggy which will give Demi all the support she needs when out and about, but also folds down to fit in a car.
We aim to raise between £1,000 and £1,500 in order to buy a suitable buggy and the neccessary accessories and hope you'll join us at one or more of our events where we promise an array of entertainment in return for your patronage.

We had a great night at the fundraiser for Demi.
There was a very good turnout and everyone was most generous.
Thanks to the Forest Hall constitutional club for the use of the room.
Thanks very much to the singers Paul Gardner and Janice Gilroy who were fantastic.

I agree what a fantastic night. The entertainment was superb and to meet Demi in person was lovely. There was a large turnout who donated a lot to the Demi's Buggy Appeal.
