NSBP
Newcastle Society for Blind People has been caring for blind and visually impaired people of all ages since 1867. It is older than the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) and takes pride in its range of services and its relationship with its service users.
Visually impaired people serve on our Management Committee and are involved in many ways in the conduct of the organisation, not simply as service users.
Our aim is to promote any charitable purpose for the benefit of blind and visually impaired people in Newcastle on Tyne, in particular by the provision of support designed to meet their needs – provided that such support will be given in a way which increases and respects their independence, choice, privacy and dignity.
The services are available to all within the City whose sight is impaired.
